Ability Tree Roots

Joe and Jen Butler

Joe and Jen were college students, studying pastoral ministry when their son Micah was diagnosed with developmental disabilities. They would go on to pastor a church for five years before founding Ability Tree, a faith-based nonprofit organization, in 2010. Joe and Jen have three children, and a personal understanding of the impact of disability on the family.

The Butlers have grown the ministry from one location to four locations and summer camps in two states. Their heart for those impacted by disability is what keeps this ministry growing and vibrant.

What We Offer

Each Ability Tree offers a variety of programs and services, visit the different locations in the drop-down menu or in the footer. The best way to stay informed is to sign up for the location’s email newsletters and follow their social media.

Our R.E.S.T center’s work much like a gym membership, families who are impacted by disability pay a monthly amount to take part in the classes, playtimes and structured activities. During many of these times, siblings are welcomed as well, since part of our mission is to help support the family as a whole.
